December 16, 2009, marks the anniversary of my spiritual birthday (30 years in the Lord).
I'm excited, as well as reflective. It's hard to believe that I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior 30 years ago. Can I tell you that I'm so very grateful. To say it's been easy is a far cry from the truth and reality. However, it has become easier in some ways and more difficult in other ways.
I've learned that God is a keeper! He will keep you in His tender loving care. The seal of His Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit) signifies that we are His eternally. The Lord promised that He would never leave us or forsake us...even until death. Christ died for us and sent the Comforter...the Holy Spirit...to keep us. With this, I declare, He's kept me for 30 years.
To celebrate, I commit myself to a 16-day consecration, beginning December 1st, and I invite you to join me. Pray and ask the Father to direct you in this endeavor. He will guide you as to what the consecration means to you and how to go about it. I am deliberately not setting the fast time or what you can and cannot consume. Let the Holy Spirit speak to your heart and guide you, as I believe he will also guide me.
I pray that this consecration will be a spiritual journey for you, as I believe it will be for me. Prepare a list of whatever things, issues, concerns, habits, petitions, thanksgiving, etc., that you want to lay on the altar and present them to the Father Day 1 (December 1). From there, follow the leading of the Lord. Surrender your will to His will, and your heart to His heart. I truly believe that you will experience an awesome transformation in your spiritual life, see some mircales in your personal life, and strengthen your relationship with the Father.
At the close of day 16, we will celebrate with shared testimonies and shouts of victory. (But you don't have to wait for day 16. you can get your praise on right now...and any and every day along the way.)
You are welcome to Blog your comments, scripture readings, prayers and praise to this entry.
The Lord bless you and keep you in perfect peace.
